NIPT test
Also called: Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing
A safe blood test given to the mother to screen for fetal DNA and analyze the likelihood of certain genetic conditions.
When it comes up: Starting from week 10
This test is highly accurate in estimating the risks of chromosomal syndromes like Down syndrome. The test poses no physical risk to you or your baby because it only requires a standard blood draw from your arm.
This test can also determine your baby's sex at a very early stage of pregnancy if you choose to know.
